The Carson's settled in Reston, VA, and Charles spent most of his career working for Gulf Corporation and Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) where he retired after 30 years of service.
Some would say Charles was a quiet man, but you could always get him to talk about Jesus. The Carson's joined Salem Baptist Church and later Christian Worship Assembly where Charles and Josephine were ordained as elders.
Charles faithfully served his family and his wife and dutifully took care of Josephine in her final years. When he was no longer able to take care of her himself, he went to the nursing home every day to visit her until she passed on February 21, 2012.
Charles' legacy continues with his three sons, Benjamin (Angela) Jackson of Woodlawn, VA, Charles (Christy) Carson, Jr. of Sterling, VA and Ivan Carson of Charlotte, NC. Two sisters, Pearl Carson and Margie Charlton both of Roanoke, VA. Four grandchildren, Kristin (Matthew) Jackson of Nokesville, VA, Whitney (Adrian) McShane of Bealeton, VA, Regina Carson, and Charles Carson III both of Sterling, VA. Two great grandsons, Ethan Jackson and Carter Jackson both of Nokesville, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
You may remember him as Charles, Dad, Kit, Uncle Charles, Granddad, Elder Carson and his latest nickname GPa, but Charles was most importantly a child of God and there's no doubt he finished his race and is with Jesus. He has reunited with Josephine and all of his loved ones that have gone on before him. Enter into your rest Dad. We love and miss you.
