Obituary of Hazel Virginia Dyer

Please share a memory of Hazel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Hazel Virginia “Ginny” Dyer

February 13, 1949 - February 6, 2023

Ginny passed away at the long term care facility, Dulles Health & Rehab, on Monday February 6, due to heart and respiratory complications. Prior to her stay at Dulles in Herndon Virginia, Ginny had lived in her condo in Fairfax Virginia since 1990.

Growing up in Bethesda Maryland, Ginny was an intelligent individual, with 3 sisters and 1 brother. The family also spent many enjoyable summers together at their cottage on the Chesapeake Bay. These memories remained close to their hearts, for it was a second home and a large part of their lives.

In early adulthood, she expanded her studies at local colleges, with goals of a computer science degree. Eventually Ginny became employed with the Federal Reserve, enjoying secretarial work. She loved unicorns, collecting family heirlooms and living in her Virginia city.

Ginny was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel Fisher Dyer and John Raymond Dyer Sr, as well as her siblings, Sandra Lucille, Laura Lynn, John Raymond (Jr) and Mary Ellen. Surviving family includes children of deceased siblings

At this time, a celebration of her life will be kept small as an intimate family gathering. Plans will be to lay her remains to rest on the Chesapeake Bay, along with her brother John and mother Hazel.
