Obituary of Virginia Heglar Clarity
VIRGINIA HEGLAR CLARITY
April 11, 1934 – February 15, 2023
Virginia Clarity passed away at Reston Hospital on the 15th of February after a brief illness, she was 88 years of age.
Virginia was born in the Town of Herndon the daughter of late E. J. and Edith M. Heglar. She lived her entire life in this town.
Her entire working life was spent with the federal government from which she retired over 30 years ago.
Virginia has been active in the town and surrounding area for a number of years. She volunteered with the Fairfax County Park Service at Sully Plantation and the Colvin Run Mill with her late husband Lawrence (Larry). She volunteered at The Closet and was a member of the Closet board. She was a member of the Chestnut Grove Cemetery Board. She served for a number of years on the town’s Historic Preservation Review Board. She was a member of the Herndon Historical Society and the Herndon Fortnightly Club. She was a charter member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and a beloved member of the Trinity Ringers for a number of years. She was well known for her boundless energy, lovely humor, the twinkle in her eye, and her strong opinions. Which will all be missed.
She is survived by her brother Carl A. Heglar or Herndon and her niece Heather Heglar of Winchester, VA. She is also survived by several cousins.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 21, from 5-8 PM at the Adams-Green Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 22 at 11 AM at Trinity Presbyterian Church.
Interment at Chestnut Grove Cemetery with a reception to follow at the church.
