Mr. Bailey will always hold a special place in my heart. He was was of the kindest human beings I’ve ever had the pleasure of getting to know. I will miss his greetings “Hi Erika, how’s the family?” and all of the wonderful conversations we had during my year and eight months as one of his caregivers. Thank you to Polly for the opportunity of being a part of his life, even though it was shorter than I had hoped for. Sending love to all of the Bailey family - he loved you all so very much. His family was the thing he was most proud of.

I am blessed and feel honored to have participated in Mr. Bailey’s journey as a caregiver. Mr. Bailey was kind, humble, intelligent, and always with a great sense of humor. All the moments shared with him were full of joy. Loved Man!!! Thank you Mr. Bailey for all the learnings and also to Polly and family for giving me the example of respect and love for beloved ones. So many wonderful memories and yet not enough! I remember before Uncle Bill and Aunt Donna were married! He came to visit our family when we were kids living in White Sands, NM. I remember he continually entertained us with jokes and funny faces! Then he visited us with his new bride when we lived in 29 Palms. Part of their honeymoon was spent with us. I remember they stayed in our bunk beds!(This was the 1950's) Then in VA we were lucky enough to attend family parties. Bill was always the perfect host and Donna was everyone's confidant! When I traveled to San Francisco in 1989 with a girl friend, they welcomed us with open arms, lent us their car, put $20 in my hand for gas and gave us turn-down service at night...after staying up late and talking for hours!
The picture I posted is from that trip. The memories created in Port St Lucie with our family were priceless especially for my Dad who had a bro' in town to go to the Met's games with him! They also worked together in ministry delivering communion to those in the hospital. Giant Man! Gentle Man! Godly Man! Loved Man! Missed by all...

In the summer of 1982, I worked as a dishwasher for the Marriott inflight at Newark NJ Airport but did not mention to my boss that my Uncle Bill was in charge of that part of the Marriott business. I was just glad to have a job trying to work my way through college.
After I had been there a couple of months, Bill came by for an inspection tour of the facility and let the manager know that I was his nephew. The next day I was promoted to working on the trucks loading food on the airplanes at double my pay! Thank you, Bill Bailey, for the act of nepotism. I have told this story many times always with a reverence for his kindness to me.
My condolences to the family and friends. May the Lord's comfort be a blessing to you. Roger Bailey - Son of Bill's brother Ed Bailey

Many stories were told about Bill . The best is he had to live in the locker room at the country club where he worked .

I remember when Uncle Bill and Aunt Donna lived not too far away for several years. They joined us for all family activities and the memories are treasured by myself and my family.
