Kenyon who I called "Chief" hired me to work as the National Director of Education for the NAACP in the late 70's. We stayed in touch all those years. I spoke with him last year and lost contact once he moved. My heart is heavy, but my soul continues to be thankful for the light and knowledge he shared with me and so many others. Hail to the Chief!

Sorrow is so easy to express and yet so hard to tell. A wounded heart ♥️ will heal in time and when it does the memory and love of our loved ones are sealed inside to comfort us. Grant but memory to us and we lose nothing by death. There is no pain so greater as the memory of joy in present grief. Kenny was always my bigger-than-life cousin. I remember as a little girl being fearful of his big personality but as I grew, I realized that was his joy of life coming through and I loved him more for it. During the lockdown for Covid, he and I reconnected and had weekly talks. He shared his history, my family history, and our connected history. We also discussed current events. I loved those conversations.
When we hung up, we always said, "I love you". I send you all the love, Kenny. And thank you for being such a wonderful part of my life.

To the Burke Family,
I just want you to know I will miss Kenyon immensely. I have know him for over 30 years. We talked and solved many issues of the day. The problem is no one was listening. As you know, Kenyon was an Episcopalian along with his wife Dorothy. That is where I met him. We were on a Newark Diocesan Racial Task Force together. I learned much from Kenyon and his experiences. May his spirit rest in eternal peace.
