Obituary of Diane Lynn Miller

Please share a memory of Diane to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

On Saturday, February 25, 2023, Diane Lynn Miller was welcomed into eternal life. She died peacefully at home having courageously fought a 19-year battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family, friends, and unwavering Catholic Faith.

Diane was born October 20, 1952, at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio to the late Jerry Borror and Mary (Couchot) Borror. Her father served in the Air Force, and she grew up having lived in several states and spent some of her youth in Morocco.

Diane was known for her contagious smile, positive outlook, passionate energy, and strong faith. Her children benefited from her role as a devoted home maker while serving on the PTA, room mother, Girl Scout leader and ever-present school volunteer. When her youngest (Scott) started high school, she took a full-time position at Bishop Dennis J. O’Connell High School in Arlington, VA. She worked there for almost 21 years having retired as the Attendance Manager in 2022. Diane enjoyed sharing her faith with others. She served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a beloved Catechism teacher for 10 years. Unsurprisingly, there was always a wait list to get into one of her classes! Diane had a talent for drawing and creative writing. She had an incredible sense of humor, work ethic and could tell a story like no other. She collected White House and Virginia Tech Christmas ornaments, was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, and genuinely appreciated “scrumptious food with an atmosphere to match.”

As a grandmother she shared close, yet unique bonds with each of her three grandsons. You could see her eyes light up and heart beam with pride every time she interacted or spoke about them. She always respected and encouraged them to pursue their own passions and grow their faith in God. She actively sought out ventures that would provide personal growth and learning experiences for them.

In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her infant sister, Linda Borror, and brothers Craig Borror and Gary Borror. She is survived by three children: Charlene (Joe) Fronczek of Annandale, VA, Jeanine O’Donnell of Philadelphia, PA, Scott Miller of Northern Virginia, and three grandsons: Devyn, Matthew, and Andy. She also leaves behind six godchildren, several cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends who became family.

We would like to thank everyone for their outpouring of love and most of all your continued prayers. While our mother raised us to be strong and overcome hardship, we are deeply saddened. A piece of  us is now missing.

With Love,

Charlene, Jeanine and Scott
