Obituary of Barbara Janet Chapleski

On the morning of February 25th, 2023, Barbara J Chapleski of Ashburn, Virginia passed away at age 79. Barbara was born to Guy Pensyl and Madalyn Zimmerman in Baltimore, Maryland on June 4, 1943. She graduated from Coal Township High School (Shamokin, Pennsylvania) in 1961. She attended Strayer University and received her associate’s degree. She married Joseph Chapleski on February 24, 1963. They spent the next 20 years traveling the globe together with their 2 children, Michael (Kim) and Mindy (Kevin Volcic). Once settling in Chantilly, Virginia, Barbara became a successful MaryKay sales representative and eventually a director in the company which lead to her retirement from the government. In her spare time, Barbara enjoyed going to the beach, sewing and knitting and spending all the time she could with her 3 grandchildren Josh (Hammond), Ryan and Madalyn.

Per the request of Barbara, no funeral services will be held. The family is planning a Celebration of Life for this fall. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery next to her husband.
