Howard Milton Nicholson Born September 22, 1927 in Coldwater, WV Departed this world on April, 18, 2011 to be with his Lord and Savior. Son of the late Ezra and Vena Faye Nicholson. Brother of Oral, Everett, Robert and Hester. Howard left Coldwater, WV in 1944 and moved to Baltimore, MD to meet and marry the love of his life, Virginia May Bynacker on September 22, 1945. Drafted into the United States Army in 1946, he served as a training corporal in Fort Lewis Washington. He was discharged in August of 1947 at which time he and Virginia resided with Virginia's parents in Forestville, VA. During this time he worked with his father-in-law where he quickly learned the plastering trade. Also during this time, Howard and Virginia were blessed with two children, Doris "Dot" and Fred. While plastering at a project at Deco Electronics, the owner of the company realized Howard's potential as an asset to his organization. He accepted the opportunity and challenge to gain the knowledge of the electronics field. Soon Howard and Virginia were blessed with two additional children, Linda Sue and Ginger. While at Deco he and a co-worker started a part-time lightning protection business. Due to Howard excelling in the electronics industry, he was offered the position of plant engineer with the parent company, Westinghouse, in Annapolis, MD. Becoming restless in the corporate world, Howard left Westinghouse, bought out his partner in the lightning protection company and expanded it into a successful full time business. Along with the success of his lightning protection business, Howard also decided to expand his knowledge base and briefly entered the real estate field. Although successful in all areas of his business career, his main passion was his wife and family. Howard and Virginia were blessed with 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was also blessed with many gifts and abilities that included such hobbies as painting, playing various musical instruments, singing and earning his pilot's license once he was in his seventies. More than any of his accomplishments or possessions, Howard valued his large family and loving, life-long friends. Family will receive friends Tuesday, April 19, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Adams Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA 20170.
