Obituary of Karen Joan Meagher

Karen Meagher of Herndon Virginia passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family, friends, and her dogs.  She was 58.  Karen is survived by her brother.

Karen grew up in Mahopac NY and attended SUNY-Albany where she got a BA in Psychology with a Computer Science minor.  She settled in the northern Virginia area after college and began a long career in IT, rising to a senior level at Concur/SAP.  Karen loved to travel, and went on trips with family and friends to Australia, Africa, Ireland, England, Greece, Italy and many other places.  She enjoyed the water, and loved to waterski, trips to the beach, and swimming.  She also loved her animals, and was a proud member of many animal rights organizations.  While she never married, she was considered by many to be part of their family due to her kind heart.

Karen requested that no services be held.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Homeless Animals Rescue Team (www.hart90.org).
