Obituary of Ruby Nadine Sullins

Ruby Nadine Sullins, 88, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2023 in Reston, VA, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 25, 1935, in Warrensburg, MO, to the late parents John and Genevieve Parman.

 

Ruby graduated from College High School in 3 years and went on to Central Missouri State University at the age of 16, earning an associate's degree in education. She married Gene Sullins in 1953, and they were married until his death in 1992. Together, they lived abroad in Paris in the 1960s, where they created cherished memories.

 

Throughout her life, Ruby had a passion for travel and adventure, and took a trip around the world. She was an avid quilter and crafter and shared her love of these hobbies with her friends and family. In her earlier years, she was a talented cake decorator, painter, upholsterer, and even taught classes in these disciplines for Fairfax County adult education.

 

 Ruby is survived by her daughters and their families, including five grandsons, and one granddaughter. Her beloved dog, Gracie, was always by her side, providing comfort and companionship. Ruby lived in Reston for almost 3 decades, where she enjoyed friendships with many neighbors over the years. Prior to Reston, she lived in Potomac, MD for 24 years, Mclean, VA for 8 years, as well as Missouri and France.

 

Ruby was a kind, loving, and generous person who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
