Mr. Bhuvanesh Kobla of Ashburn, VA, born in Madurai, India, son of Mr. K.M.S.L Neelakantan and Mrs. K.N. Sarojini, passed away on April 8, 2023. He is survived by his wife, Dr. Urmila Bhuvanesh, his elder son, Vikrant Kobla and his spouse, Harshita Kobla and their three children, Vishal, Akshay and Rithika, and his younger son, Gautam Kobla and his spouse Keerthi Kobla and their two children, Sanjit and Saiyuj. He also leaves behind his three sisters living in India.

He studied at PSG College in Coimbatore, India, earning his degree in textile management and tended to the family business.  He came to the United States in 1982 and settled in southern Connecticut and worked in the real estate industry.

Mr. Kobla is well known for his gentle smile and caring attitude, was always willing to help others and had nary a harsh word for anyone. He was a spiritual person and loved to visit temples. He graciously volunteered at the Connecticut Valley Hindu Temple Society in Middletown, CT, where he served on its Executive Committee for 6 years and was a key contributor for multiple utsava murthis for the temple. Upon retirement, they relocated to Ashburn, Virginia.

Mr. Kobla was a devoted Mets fan and has seen them play in numerous ballparks.  He loved to spend his free time with his grandkids. He was an ardent listener of Indian classical (Carnatic) music and movie songs. He enjoyed playing cards with friends and grandkids.  He was a coffee lover, vegetarian foodie with a sweet tooth and loved to travel the world. He was always up to date with current affairs watching the evening news without fail here and news back home in India.

Funeral and cremation services will be held at 9:00 am on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at Adams-Green Funeral Home & Crematory in Herndon, VA.
