I knew Cameron as my best friends step-dad, he was kind, patient, and understanding with us as we grew up as young rebellious pains-in-the-asses. He was fun and encouraging, and shared in some wonderful memories with us as we matured into slightly less painful adolescents. I will always cherish the memories of having him and the family at my cottage in Otter Lake, seeing Motley Crue with him Jared and Lisa, and the many small moments spent at their home as I grew up. I only wish there could have been more of these memories for everyone.

We are so sorry that the world has lost our friend, Cameron Chaboudy. Our hearts ache for the entire family. Cameron was a kind, considerate and thoughtful friend. Some people make the world a better place just by being in it, and he did that for us. We treasure the time we had with him, and wish we had more. He made us laugh and touched our lives. We will miss you.

Cameron was a coworker at Amentum and we first met in early 2015 as part of the URS/AECOM merger. We worked together under Joe Walker and were part of the same IT Team. The last 5 years were every changing at the company, but Cameron’s humor and genuine concern for people made those difficult times much easier. He always brought great leadership, along with some very dry humor, to any challenging situation. I took time away from our company for personal reasons, and when I returned, he was one of the first people to call me and welcome me back. Cameron, just being Cameron. I know he will be missed by many people, and I will cherish the times we spent working together. Cameron was a special human being, God Speed my friend!

One never knew when the call of the monkey would screech through the halls of Reliable. No matter when they occurred, Cameron was always ready and usually the first one outside of the office. Cameron, Lisa, Bill, and I were the core group who got the ball rolling. Martinis were the drink of the day. We spent hours talking, laughing, and telling jokes. I will always remember those days which bring a smile to my face.
Cameron was one of a kind and a good friend to all. I will miss him and all the times we went through. He lived life to the fullest and was taken from us too early. I will always be here for you Lisa.

I worked with Cameron for over a decade. I always marveled at his intelligence and knowledge of the IT world. I definitely relied on him for advice and guidance for running the financial applications. But more importantly I remember his kindness, generosity, empathy, leadership and friendship. These characteristics live stronger in my memory than any of his strong business qualities. I know he is missed by all who knew him. But so grateful to have known him

I worked with Cameron for the last 12 years. We met through the acquisition of the company he was previously working at (Apptis). We bonded almost immediately, although I believe his ability to engage people was a characteristic that everyone recognized. Over the following decade Cameron became more than a co-worker, he was a friend. He was truly one of my confidants, always available to talk through any situation and provide sound consultation. In 2020 we both became part of the standup of a new company (Amentum). We spent many evenings in the hotel lobby next to the office going over plans and strategies for the new organization. We were excited about the opportunity for our teams and the opportunities this new adventure would provide. Working together on this new initiative allowed us to grow closer and understand that we were of the same mindset and wanting the best for others.
Cameron was always concerned about people, how his team was doing, how he could take better care of them, how to make work enjoyable while driving toward objectives. He was a leader that new how to engage people, mainly because it wasn’t an act - he truly cared.
Cameron had a talent for disarming people and making them feel at ease while providing solutions to their needs. I remember when Cameron and I were asked to meet with the Navy regarding our ability to support a specific security requirement. We were all a bit nervous about the meeting, but Cameron was superb. You could see the Navy personnel relax and realize they were dealing with a consummate professional who understood their concerns and could provide the results they desired. By the end of the meeting, Cameron had created a partnership with the Navy, exchanging names and contact information all around. That was just another day for Cameron.
One of my favorite memories of Cameron was when he called me shortly before Christmas to ask if my wife’s name was Veronica. He said his wife Lisa had received a Christmas gift in the mail “to Cameron” - “from Veronica Walker”. He said his wife confronted him on who Veronica Walker was, and why was she sending him gifts. He told his wife he didn’t know who she was, but then it clicked. I got a call from Cameron to verify that my wife’s name was indeed Veronica – she had helped me by sending Christmas gifts to some of my coworkers. From that time on, Cameron referred to my wife as his secret girlfriend.
Cameron always planned the best vacations, and he was enchanted by the Caribbean. I considered him a subject matter expert when trying to find the latest vacation hotspot in the Gulf of Mexico. Cameron and I always talked about getting together and vacationing at some of the newest destinations in South Carolina and Tennessee, but never quite made it – I regret that.
To me, Cameron went by a lot of titles; “Leader”, “Humorist”, “Travel Agent”, “Caterer”, “Psychologist”, “Co-Worker”, “Peacemaker” and “Confidant”; but most importantly he was a “Friend,” and I will miss him greatly.

I am saddened to hear of Cam’s passing. He was a wonderful friend and I will cherish our memories. I was fortunate that his house was behind mine so we often spent time together.
I still have photos from the day he decided to do my hair. Since hairspray was a big staple in the early nineties he felt it necessary to drench my head in aqua net.
Sometimes I’d come home and find him hanging with my family, mostly because my mom always served him food.
I wish we had stayed in touch during college but I think we both wanted to spread our wings.
I’m thinking and praying for his entire family during this difficult time.

I was initially concerned, as any father would be, when it became evident that another man was going to be an important part of my sons' lives. For over 15 years Cameron was Stepfather to my sons Jared and Jordan. As time went along, my concerns transitioned to happiness as I witnessed the bond and trust between Cameron and my sons grow. I know that my sons loved him very much and he deserved this. I considered him my friend and I will miss him.

My deepest condolences to Lisa, Caden and family,
to Cam’s brother George and
to Cam’s parents Penny & Butch.
“Regrets” – a key word that seems to rise to the surface when someone you know passes away. “Regrets” seem to suddenly produce a bucket list of thoughts revolving around “I wish I had…..” or “I regret I didn’t….” and more. Yes, I have regrets about Cam that I did not get to spend more time with him. Cam was easy to be around because he made you feel at ease and he was a great listener. At the same time my heart is sadden at the loss of Cam, the loss to Lisa, Caden and all of his family members. One thing “Regrets” does do is keep memories of Cam alive eternally. We will always remember Cam from one day to the next because the “Regrets” and the thoughts it brings up about Cam will never go away.
May peace be with you Cam.
Sincerely David MacDonald

To Lisa, Caden, Jared, Jordan, George, Penny, Butch and the entire extended Chaboudy family- I’m so sorry for the loss of our amazing friend Cam.
As I read through some of the notes and memories from friends and co-workers Cam touched later in life I’m struck by how many people note the same traits we remember Cam by as young men during our days at WVU before we took on the world. Quiet, calm and reserved- comfortable and at peace around his friends. Fiercely loyal to them as well. A great listener. Someone to trust. And a heck of a Lego collection. Hard to type this as so many memories flood back to mind. I’ll miss you my friend- gone too soon.

I met Cam through work and we instantly became friends.
At work he was smart and could provide clarity in a chaotic situation. He knew how to push people to do their best. But what I most appreciated about Cam was he had done the work that he'd ask people to do. He was a seasoned leader who knew where the landmines and pitfalls might be and would guide the team around and sometimes through them. The attached picture is from Memorial Day Weekend in 2011. We worked the three day weekend deploying one of the company's first cloud project. The only day I knew him to take off was his only religious holiday, St. Patrick's Day!
Outside work he was the person you wanted to hang out with. There were lunches and happy hours, too many to count, and the laughter, oh man did we laugh. There were Gold Cups, a Thanksgiving dinner, a wedding, and hockey games. We met up one weekend in DC to watch UMD (my alma mater) play WVU (his alma mater). The week prior there was trash talking, taunting signs, and ransacking of offices. The day of the game Cam played my wingman as I met my now wife. I'll be eternally grateful to him for coming out to watch two crappy football teams on a Saturday at noon. (I can hear him now, "Who's football team are you calling crappy?") WVU 37 - UMD 31 was the final score. He was the type of person that if someone were to say "I don't know about that Cam guy." The only proper response to them would be "You need to re-evaluate your life."
My heart goes out to Lisa and the boys. He loved you all beyond words.

Q: How did you meet Cameron?
A: I met Cameron in January 2000 when I joined Reliable Integrations and we were both supporting the DISN Video contract at the AT&T central office in Drainsville, VA. Who would have guessed that with a 26 year age difference, that not only would we become great co-workers as Sr. Network Engineers, but that we would become great friends. Then one day, a new HR Manager walks onsite and who would have guessed that at that moment, he may not have known it, but this young woman, Lisa, would soon become his wife. I still have their wedding photos from Jamaica pop up on my TV screen. So many good times, happy hours and long talks about any topic you can think of. Last September, I was up in West Virginia for a few weeks with my RV and was looking on Facebook, when I noticed that Cam and Lisa were in the area. So Cam, Lisa and Caden hopped in the car and came for a visit. I hadn’t seen them in years as I had chosen to work in the Middle East. So I was ecstatic that they could come by and we could catch up. I will always cherish all of the many memories with Cam and will remember him fondly. Someone who was honest, hard working and always had a smile on his face. The world was a better place and I, was very fortunate to have had the wonderful opportunity to have known and worked with such an amazing man and friend. Rest easy Cam. ❤️

In memory of Cameron, a cherished colleague and friend. I will always remember the day we first met as I started working in the Advanced Technology Group at Apptis – a reserved, yet friendly guy with a brilliant mind and measured responses. Working together on the challenging GSA bid, where we managed to keep AWS on our team and win the contract, Cameron displayed his remarkable intelligence and determination.
Throughout our time working together, Cameron's even-keeled nature, thoughtfulness, and humor were truly inspiring. His ability to create our first cloud service catalog almost single-handedly and quickly demonstrated his immense talent. But it was his empathy and willingness to lend a sympathetic ear that made him a great friend.
Cameron understood the importance of balancing work and play, fostering camaraderie by spending time with his colleagues outside of the office. It was during these moments that we would learn more about his life with Lisa and the kids, and the love and pride he held for his family.
We will miss you dearly, Cameron, and forever cherish the time spent working and laughing together.
