Obituary of Shirley Alberta Ralph

Shirley Alberta Ralph, 87, of Fairfax County, VA, passed away on April 23, 2023.  She will be dearly missed and forever in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know her.

Shirley was born on September 9, 1935 to Beaulah Beach and Lester O’Meara in Herndon, VA. and was a graduate from Herndon High School.  Through the years she was a loyal friend and always in touch with her dear friends.

As a young adult, she was married and went on to have five children, Rick, Joan, Kelly, Sherri and Angela who were her pride and joy.

After Shirley had her first son Rick, she dedicated her young life to being a loving and caring mother. Shirley excelled at this and helped her children through the many passions, difficulties and joys in their lives. She was a precious Mother as well a wonderful Sister, Aunt, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and person to those who adored her.

Over the years and outside of the home she was an exceptional part owner of Teddy Sales Company.  Wayne’s Green House and Flint Hill School were also places she made a positive impact on others as well as sharing her talent and hard work.

Later in her single retired days, Shirley was a passionate gardener and enjoyed country line dancing and music.  When she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found outside gardening or visiting and enjoying her beach house in Nags Head N.C. or hanging out with her grown kids, grand kids and close friends.

Shirley was predeceased by her Mother Beaulah Beach, Father Lester O’Meara, Brother Vernon O’Meara, Son Richard Ralph, Daughter Angela Ralph and Grandson, Justin Gray.  She is survived by her Daughter Joan Swift, Son Kelly Ralph and Daughter Sherri Shepherd.  She is also survived by Brother’s Donald and John O’Meara and Sister Irma Upchurch.

There will be a memorial gathering for Shirley on Friday May 19, 2023 between 4:00 and 7:00 PM at Adams-Green Funeral Home in Herndon.  Friends and family are invited and welcomed to celebrate her life with her children.
