I met Martha at my colorectal support group about a year ago. Right from the moment go she was bright, engaging, funny and so friendly. She was such an example to everyone in our group, always living life on her terms. That woman did not let anything slow her down. On oxygen 24/7? No problem, got herself a portable one and off to her adventures she went. Laid up in the hospital for a few days? She'd have so many visitors it was hard to get in to see her. Unable to cook for herself? No big deal, she had an army ready and waiting to bring her or take her to dinner. Of course she'd get down, but she'd never stay there long. Her love for people was evident in every conversation she had, especially for her neices. Martha, you are such a lovely person and I will miss you. I will keep your lessons close to my heart and try to live as you did, in the present and with much joy. Rest in peace my friend.
