Obituary of Tuan Mohamed Passela

Tuan Passela, 65 passed away peacefully in Arlington, Virginia in the comforting presence of his wife, son, and daughter after a courageous battle with cancer.

Tuan was born on January 02, 1958, in Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka. He was the son of the late Puthra and Jumannie passela. He is the fifth of nine siblings, whom he loved dearly. In Sri Lanka, Tuan was a pioneering Bodyline (Pvt) Ltd. team member where he worked as a purchasing executive.

In 2003, he immigrated to the United States with his family. He established new roots in Herndon, Virginia where he spent the rest of his life watching his children grow up, creating memories with his wife, tending to his garden, making friends with whoever crossed his path, and doing what he loved the most: cooking for everyone around him. There was nothing that brought him more joy than to watch the people he loves enjoy the meals that he tenderly crafted.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 32 years, Thushara. His son Lahiru, and daughter Yohara. His brothers Ariff, Mohamed Raheem, and Ameeudeen Passela.His sisters Zuhaira Majeed and Haleema Passela, and his nieces and nephews. As well as numerous friends whom he considered family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Puthra and Jumannie Passela, as well as his three sisters: Sithy Fauziya Wazeer, Suraiya Passela, and Sithy Fathima Passela.

His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
