Obituary of Cleveland Ellsworth Shifflett

Cleveland "Cleve" E. Shifflett Sr. 85 of Sterling VA, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday May 31, 2023            

   Cleveland Sr. was born November 7, 1937 in Fairfax VA to the late Jake Vernon Shifflett and Velvia Louise Shifflett. Cleveland worked as a Manger for A&P/superfresh for 33 years before retiring. Mr.Shifflett loved farming, canning, gardening and traveling. Cleve also enjoyed playing music especially the banjo, guitar and the organ. 

  Cleveland is survived by a large family. Mr. Shifflett was married to Mellissa Shifflett on July 14. They were married for 44 years. Cleve was survived by 4 children Cleveland Shifflett Jr. And his wife Rosie of WV, Evonda Williamson of Winchester, Howard Shifflett of Leesburg and Jacob E Shifflett of Sterling. He is proceeded in death by his daughter Juanita "Pumpkin" Sowers and his son Troy Lee Shifflett. Cleveland also leaves behind many siblings Jake and Frances Shifflett of Stephens City, Willie and Carolyn Shifflett of Berryville Va, Vernette & Terry Barth of Colorado,  Dennis & Tanya Shifflett of Stephen City, Blanette Owens of Herndon VA, Jeanette and Charlie Gallup of Sterling VA, Ronnie Shifflett of Winchester and Helen and Wayne Taylor of Finksburg, MD.  His siblings he proceeds in death with are Beatrice Crocker, Edith Crum, Bruce Shifflett ,Paulette Shifflett and Pasty Wagner. He is also survived by lots of loved grandchildren, great grandchildren nieces and nephews.  

Pallbearers are Cleveland Shifflett, Howard Shifflett, Jacob Shifflett, Steven Payne, Larry Sowers Jr., Hunter Simmons, Dennis Shifflett and Easton Richard's. Donations can be made to Jacob Shifflett of Sterling Va.
