Juanita C. Wright
Records Management Analyst
Juanita C. Wright, 100, a retired Records Management Analyst who worked initially in support of the U.S. Army/Air Corps and later for the National Archives, passed away quietly June 4 at the Maple Grove Assisted Living division of Ashby Ponds in Ashburn, Virginia.
A long time resident of Bethesda, Maryland, Mrs. Wright was born in Enid, Oklahoma. Growing up in Delray Beach, Florida and then in Wilson, Oklahoma, she eventually graduated from Strayer College.
In 1941, answering the U.S. government call to arms of World War II, Mrs. Wright entered stateside government service as a clerk typist, followed by various different positions as she pursued the final position of Records Management Analyst. This lengthy period of Federal Level service afforded Mrs. Wright the opportunity to personally meet seven (7) sitting U.S. presidents, in addition to numerous other high level Cabinet members.
In 1980, after completing 39 years of Federal Service within several government agencies, Mrs. Wright retired to pursue her other interests, which included international travel and the family ancestry, to name just a few. Mrs. Wright’s genealogy work covered 80 + years of ancestry on both sides of the family.
Mrs. Wright was a deacon of First Baptist Church of Washington.
Mrs. Wright’s husband of 43 years, Maurice G. Wright, passed away in 1992.
Survivors include her two children, Richard Wright of Leesburg, Virginia and Carl Wright of Martinsburg, W.Va.
Loving wife and mother to two precotious sons
A loving husband, who kept his word to his new bride for 75 years in his life, and after his death.
No greater love could be found.
Many international travels within her life
Work supported (and she met) seven sitting United States presidents
Geneaology work covered both sides of family history for 100 plus years.
Drove a car until 92.
Lived on her own until 97.
Loved her family and was supportive in special ways
