Suzanne Delligatti Orr (Suzy)

Suzy Orr of Herndon, VA peacefully passed away at age 60 on Friday, June 30th.  She was surrounded by family after an extended battle with pancreatic cancer.  Suzy is survived by her loving husband Doug, two sons Tommy and Steven, sister Katie Buck (Tom), and other beloved family members.

Suzy was the daughter of the late Air Force Major General Robert S (Del) and Karen Delligatti.  She was born on October 31st, 1962 and lived on numerous Air Force bases through her early years.  Suzy graduated from Langley High School in McLean, Virginia in 1981 and the University of Virginia in 1985.  She excelled as a stay-at-home mom during her boys’ early years and was actively involved as a volunteer at the church, soccer teams, Herndon High School marching band, and many other activities.  She later worked for the Technology Student Association helping to educate the next generation of leaders.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, caring and commitment to others.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service and celebration of her life followed by a reception will be held at Herndon United Methodist Church on Saturday, July 8th at 1 PM.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests that donations in Suzy’s memory can be made to the American Cancer Society in the hopes of finding a cure to spare others from this devastating illness.
