Obituary of Audrey Luke Nguyen

The family of Audrey Luke Nguyen is deeply saddened to announce her sudden passing from a brain aneurysm on June 22, 2023.  

Audrey was born on August 26, 1970 to parents Don and Wanda Luke. She grew up in Glen Burnie, Maryland and graduated from Old Mill High School, then attended the University of Delaware where she was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design from the College of Human Resources. Upon graduation, Audrey worked in interior design in the DC metro area and New Jersey before starting her longtime career in consulting, working for American Management Systems, Los Alamos Laboratory, and finally CGI Federal. She met her husband Nam at work, and they spent time living in Santa Fe, New Mexico before returning to Reston, Virginia to be closer to family and raise their two daughters, Mia and Lily.  

Audrey was known for her intelligence, curiosity, sense of humor, and most of all, her incredible loyalty and dedication to her family and friends. She could often be found at basketball games and other school functions, piano recitals, ultimate frisbee tournaments, and Girls on the Run events, supporting and participating in Mia and Lily’s many activities. She spent her free time training for marathons, reading an impressive number of books at a very rapid pace, and constantly trying out new baking and cooking recipes. She also loved to spend time with her large extended family, which involved lots of travel to locations such as Europe and Asia, and frequent trips out west to Colorado, California, and New Mexico. As a friend, Audrey was the most sincere and supportive person anyone could ever hope to have in their lives, maintaining many lifelong relationships through her unusual ability to be both honest and deeply compassionate to those closest to her. 

Audrey is survived by many family members and friends who are devastated by this sudden loss, including her husband, Nam Nguyen, and daughters Mia and Lily Nguyen of Reston, Virginia; her mother, Wanda Luke, and brother Mitchell Luke of Glen Burnie, Maryland; her sister, Marjorie (Luke) Johnson Martin of Castle Rock, Colorado; her brothers-and-sisters-in-law; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Don Luke.  

The family will recieve friends on Friday, July 14, 2023 from 3 pm to 6 pm at Adams-Green Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 3 pm.
