Obituary of Carol Lynn Patterson
Carol Lynn Patterson was a caring wife, mother, grandmother (“Nana”), sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly on July 22nd, 2023 at age 67.
Carol was born in Waltham, Massachusetts on September 3rd, 1955 to Cecil and Barbara Hucker. As an Air Force brat, she traveled the world as a child spending time in Libya, Morocco, Spain, and all throughout America before meeting her husband Jay Patterson in Nashville, Tennessee, marrying in 1981, and then making Herndon, Virginia her home for 40 years.
Carol's warming presence lit up our world - and if her infectious laugh and empathetic ear weren't enough, she would tell you precisely how to adjust the lamps or candles a few inches to the left or right to create the right ambiance. Her ability to find the perfect Christmas gift was unparalleled, and her hugs made the world a better place.
Carol will be fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to be caught in her orbit: Jay who spent 42 years as her doting husband; her son Adam, his partner Kristin, all of "the guys" who knew her as "Mrs. P;" her daughter Megan, her son-in-law Dave, and her granddaughters Ellie and Penny ("the girls") – to whom she was such a devoted Nana; and her sister Sandy and brother-in-law John Carpenter, and all other nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, neighbors, colleagues, and friends.
In accordance with her wishes, no services will be held.
