She was an absolute delight to talk to, as she was then. Hopefully you have the DVD that came of that little project, as I will treasure it even more now. Reading through JJ’s Facebook posts, I am touched and humbled by her words and accomplishments as a mom, wife, professional and civic leader. I’m so sad to learn this. JJ was such a sweet vibrant person. A few years ago, a friend of mine was criticizing Facebook and the people who used it. I responded by saying, if it hadn’t been for Facebook, I would not have had the opportunity to chat with someone like my old friend JJ, who I hadn’t seen since we both spent a summer in our teens working at a TV station in Miami. Through Facebook, we were, finally, able to catch up and find out that we BOTH were so inspired by that summer job that we ended up becoming tv news reporters and we went on to share our experiences and silly stories with each other.
So…my Facebook-hating friend stopped arguing and I thought about how happy I was to keep up with what JJ was up to in her daily life. From those posts, I know she fought this horrible disease fiercely and that her family was at her side every step of the way. Please accept my condolences.
