Obituary of Lenda Ann Buchanan

Lenda Ann Buchanan, daughter of late Leonard and Annie Sorrell and the wife of  late John Buchanan passed after her fight with cancer early Saturday morning July 29, 2023.

Lenda was a long time resident of Sterling Park in Loudoun County who enjoyed everything about gardening and reading a good book. Her love of arts and crafts and interacting with children lead her to teach art classes at Sully Elementary School and to become the PTA prisident for a couple years there. Lenda also was a girl scout leader and  taught preschool for many years. She retired from Loudoun County Parks and Recreation as a Recreation Programmer where she created, organized, taught classes and ran events.

Lenda was a strong independent woman who cared for everybody else first. She is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Also by her brother, Larry, her two daughters Julie and Angela and beloved granddaughter, Bethany.

We would like to thank our family for visiting and reaching out to Mom while she was in the hospital.  Also for reaching out to us and for all the kindness. It is  very much appreciated, more than we could ever express.
