Nancy Piercey

Obituary of Nancy Virginia Piercey

Please share a memory of Nancy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Nancy passed peacefully away Sunday July 30th at the age of 92.   She was born  May 21st 1931 in nearby Arcola, Virginia.   She was the youngest of 6 children born to Mary and Harry Pangle and raised there in Arcola.

She leaves to mourn her daughters Carolyn Swartz, Debra Allen, and Kathie Walbert.   Her husband, James Norman Piercey Sr. and son James Piercey Jr. predeceased her.   She also leaves 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

We are thankful that she was able to call Sommerset Retirement Community in Sterling, Virginia home for almost 10 years.    She enjoyed many friendships and activities there through those years and was genuinely happy there.  The pandemic years were a bit tough.   She was super happy to get back to poker after the pandemic restrictions eased and get back to joke telling face to face!

Her sense of humor will be greatly missed by her family and friends.     She loved sports, poker, telling jokes and loved leisurely time with friends throughout her lifetime and especially loved each of us in her family…. And we loved her….  She will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Jude’s or your local food bank in her honor would be appreciated.
