We have known Bill for many decades. Bill was always an officer and gentleman throughout his life. Bill would always be a person you could talk to and feel good. He and Merce raised their kids to be outstanding citizens and family members. Bill made the world a better place and is deeply missed.

I met Bill through my friend and his son Steve. It was at a Knights of Columbus meeting 25 years ago. Bill was well respected in the Council that I had just joined. I know how loved Bill was by the Delaney clan. The way he carried himself reminded me of all the great men who lived through our wars. The last time I ran into Bill he was standing at the entrance of our church, St. Raymond’s of Penafort. Steve had just been inducted as Grand Knight of our Council. I said to Bill - “Mr Delaney I am Steve’s wingman”
(I recently learned Bill served in the Air Force. I had no idea at the time ) Bill said “thank you” and I shook his hand.

Although I had seen Bill serving at Our Lady of Hope many times, I really didn't know him until I attended a "March for Life" event in Washington, DC. It was a chilly January morning, he was gingerly walking and tightly holding on his cane next to me-soldiering on for the cause! His dedication inspired me. We ended up walking/chatting together until the end of the march and had forged a friendship in the process. When I visited him at Falcons Landing, he greeted everyone and it seemed that everyone knew him. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought he was the "Mayor of Falcons Landing!"
Rest in peace Bill. May you bask in the glory of God!

Though I never met Bill, I loved reading about his life and accomplishments. They are the beautiful legacy he has left for his family. I was married to his classmate Joe Deiss until he passed away in February 2022. Joe was a man of deep Christian faith and that assures me he is with his Savior Jesus. Reading about Bill, I believe his friendship with Joe is now reunited in eternity. My sincere condolences as you grieve the loss of Bill's earthly life.
