“Let all that you do be done in love” 1 Corinthians 16:14
Caroline Newlon: beloved wife, mom, daughter, sister, MiMi, teacher, and friend.
Caroline will always be remembered by her love of God, love for family, love for friends, and her love for teaching. She loved the simple pleasures of life: beautiful sunrises and sunsets, mountain and lake views, and of course waterfalls and rainbows! She loved being together with her loved ones, saying, “family time is the best time.”
She always said she didn’t have *that* many friends, she just had: her Mary Washington friends, her church friends, her childhood friends, her neighborhood friends, her high school friends, her teacher friends, her mom friends, her camp friends, her doctor friends, and her nurse friends. She truly created the best friendships and support system for us all.
She loved to travel the world and took many unforgettable trips. Our family was blessed to have her as a vacation planner, making sure we saw over half of the states, and multiple countries! Caroline also loved to hike, visiting numerous national parks and receiving the passport stamps and souvenir pennies to prove it!
More than anything though, she loved being a teacher! When her first child, Joshua, was born, she decided to take a year off from teaching…she went back 18 years later. In her words, “I guess you could say I was born to be a stay-at-home mom.” Our family is forever grateful that she devoted her time to discipling, loving, and caring for us. As many former students and families have reminded us, she loved all of her students as her own. She always went the extra mile to pour into them to make learning fun. She prioritized meeting every child on their level and spent countless hours helping each student succeed. The highlight of her career was teaching children to read. Her passion for reading was reflected in her vast classroom library which has now been passed down for her precious grandchildren to enjoy! Being true to Caroline’s values, in lieu of flowers, she requested backpacks to inspire the next generation of learners. If you are unable to join us in person, please honor Caroline by donating a backpack to a local school.
Caroline adored her grandchildren! She was the best MiMi and loved spending her time reading, singing, playing, and shopping for them. As her grandson Levi says, “MiMi is running with Jesus”. We are mourning her loss here on earth but rejoicing that she is fully healed and resting in the arms of our Lord and Savior and reunited with her parents James and Irene Corr.
Forever loved by:
Blaine (husband); Joshua (son) and Amy; Sarah (daughter), Matt, Levi, and Isla; Hannah (daughter); along with Elizabeth Smedley (sister) and family, and Thomas Corr (brother) and family.
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
