Obituary of Earl Lee Foltz
Earl Lee Foltz passed away peacefully at his home on October 13, 2023 after a sudden and unexpected illness. He was an active 89 years old and passed just short of celebrating his 90th birthday. Earl was the 7th of 9 children born in Arlington, VA to Glyndon and Bertha Foltz. He is predeceased by his wife, Barbara Foltz, sons Steven and David Foltz, and brothers and sisters Elwood, Aletha, Arvilla, Leonard, Thelma and Irene.
Earl is survived by his loving family: daughter Beverly Foltz Boyd (husband Steve), granddaughter Jennifer Miller (husband Scott), grandsons Brayden and Adam Miller, brother Gary Foltz (wife Jeanette) and sister Barbara Rakes (husband Noah), as well as many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Earl served in the U.S. Navy from 1953-1957 during the Korean War. After that he worked at and retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a Water Treatment Plant Foreman. He married Barbara in 1955. Together they raised 3 children and lived in Broad Run Farms, Sterling, VA since 1960. He was very active in his community and dedicated to his church. Earl was a coach and founder of the Lower Loudoun Little League and was honored to be elected into the Hall of Fame in 2012. He was also founder of Boy Scout Troop #956. Some of his favorite activities included camping, fishing, photography, coaching and playing sports, gardening, square dancing and most of all spending time with his family and friends. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
