out of our shrinking group i believe i was the only one to last see mary, i just never get in that direction and at best, fly over top of them, i was on my way to georgia, i saw hans, melissa and mary at the nursery, I guess that will be my last memory of her i showed her the white scar she gave me on my finger, probably 65 years ago i was holding a watermelon for her on sandra avenue, while she was cutting it and the knife hit my finger, that is the first time i learned the expression bleeding like a pig, she was mortified, the one before that was on my way walking home from st jerome's, i stopped in for a snack on heins avenue, she gave me a piece of toast with cold canned peas on top, she must have improved on her imagination for cooking, at our age we want to think 79 is far too young, but she was no longer the 79 we think of, i remember she called me much later after my mother died, my mother got the legendary esbaugh christening dress to her, i still have a contact for melissa and will send her a note, i sent her a note after hans died and she didn't find it for years, that was something we joked about, i have to leave for cancun november 10 for long delayed dental work, if i wait any longer am going to end up with a root canal or extraction, will watch the video connection for the service, it is very common now and the americans are always ahead of us

This comes from all Mary’s family in Canada. All the cousins have notified and are saying prayers and remembering your days in Canada. Unfortunately the days of large get together are very limited . However the times of togetherness and the photos taken are now being treasured. Your week spent in Canada during our 50 th anniversary year 7 years ago, are so fondly remembered and photos taken are being looked at and remembered in special ways. Your wonderful smile and twinkling eyes will never be forgotten. On Nov 11 Th. Remembrance Day in Canada, your spirit will be in our thoughts and prayers. Don and Pat and Canadian families

During her time in North Carolina, I got to know her smiling face and generosity as we shared our time in St. Mildred's Women's Guild. She was so missed when she left. Rest in peace, special Mary.
