Please share a memory of Betty to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Betty Jean Blakeney, who departed this life on November 10, 2023 in Reston Hospital. Betty was born on February 1, 1946 in Disctrict Of Columbia to Mary Virginia Lloyd and Edgar James Poe. Betty graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1963 and went on to marry her loving husband Randy Blakeney for 42 YEARS!! She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her hobbies and interests included organizing, surfing the web, talking to her grand and great-grandkids, cooking for her family and dressing up. Her special characteristics were that she had a HUGE heart; always thinking of others. No matter how little she may have had at the time, she would give it to you or find a way to make it happen. She loved scrapbooking and saving every moment, visiting the beach, coming to Dallas Texas to visit her great grands and going to the stores and speaking with people. She also enjoyed sending gifts even if it was just a thinking of you card with a couple dollars in it; she really loved her family wholeheartedly. Betty is survived by her husband Randy Blakeney; step-children Jackie Smith (Bennie Smith-Husband) and Eric Blakeney; grandchildren Macaire Thacker, Lexus Thacker, Taylor Blakeney and Dalton Blakeney; great-grandchildren Issaiah Thacker (HER BABY), Clarke Smith, Jacari Thacker, Reye Smith and Kailani Smith; brother Gerard Laredo (Janet Laredo-Wife) and nephew Frankie Laredo. Betty will be laid to rest on November 17th at 4pm-5pm pm at Adams-Green Funeral Home & Crematory located at Elden Street in Herndon VA USA. A special thanks goes out to Adams-Green Funeral & Crematory for their services during this difficult time. The world has lost an amazing woman but heaven has gained an angel in Betty Jean Blakeney. May she rest in peace forevermore!
