I knew Mr. Grillo my entire life. He never seemed to age and was always smiling. He was always kind and offered words of encouragement. We would see him every Sunday at Mass and his "Hey Danny boy" was the highlight of my day. Rest in Peace friend.

Mr Grillo, and his bride, gave me one of my dearest friends. When Amy took this transplanted NYer home for college breaks or holidays, Bob was excited to talk NY and always quick to offer a soda. His faith, kindness and love overflowed. He will be missed.

To all, Bob just elevated himself from his excellent care by mere mortals into the welcoming hands of the ultimate healer, his Savior. Be well Bob as you enter into that peace beyond understanding (Phi 4:7) … perhaps to even include peace about the results of the 60’ World Series – see Bill Mazeroski.
Heartfelt sympathies to the extensive Grillo families,
Milt Wolf
PS About seven years ago, as we exited a Sunday McGeezer gathering, I quizzed Bob and John (John Grimaldi, also a New Yorker and rabid Yankee fan, who actually tried out for the Yankees in 1950) about the Yankees’ losses in the 55’ Series to the Dodgers and the 60’ Series to the Pirates, both Series going the full seven games. I asked Bob or John to name the one player who played all seven games of both Series for the Dodgers and the Pirates. Both thought about it, and then Bob provided the correct answer, stunning me as well as John. Amazing, who knew? (Even Bob Dole didn’t know.)

Bob was one of the organizers of the Park View Music Enhancement Society that started in 1976 giving private music lessons to students at Park View High School by private teachers.
Bob enjoyed our son Dan when was a little boy pretending to be "Superman" He got a kick out of telling us this through the years.
Bob also said that Dan is the only one who went to California to so what he said he was going to do and that was edit movies.
Bob was a special friend. He is now in heaven with Jane, the love of his life.
With deepest sympathy
Ron & Rose Oberle

Teresa and family, Roger and I were so sorry to hear of your Father's passing. It's obvious he lived a very good, productive and well loved life. Wish we had the chance to meet him yet so grateful we get to enjoy one of his lovely daughters' company here in KY. May your precious memories help heal your broken heart.

My condolences to the Grillo family on the passing of Bob. I knew Bob for many years, first in the late 60's when our families would meet after Mass at St. Joseph Catholic church in Herndon, then when he "worked" at Farmer John's stand outside of Leesburg. Although infrequent, I always had nice chats with Bob about a variety of topics, but especially about sports (his beloved NY Yankees) or religion. He was a righteous man and will be missed. May he rest in peace and find his place with the Lord in heaven.
God Bless,
Jerry Cummings
