I, Kathy's Aunt have always felt of her as my own daughter. My husband and I have many unforgettable memories with her ever since she came into this world. Our son is four years younger than Kathy and they were always together as if they were brother and sister. She was such a sweet little girl whose sweetness never changed. She grew up to be sweet, kind and thoughtful to everyone. Kathy always gave everyone around her a feeling of love and peace. Her warm smile and pleasant conversation will always be with us and never forgotten. We miss her so very much. The beautiful birthday wreath she made for me is in our house forever. She will always be in our hearts. We are thankful and fortunate to have had her in our life. Through her wonderful children, Kathy still lives on.
With all our love,
Aunt Hiroko and Uncle Tom

My bride, Kathy, means the world to me. I will be eternally grateful for all of our memories together and for our three beautiful children, Evie, Jackie, & Joey. Despite leaving this world far too early, you left it a much better place. I will miss you and love you always and forever. Your loving husband, Chris

I feel so blessed to have been able to share such beautiful and special memories with Kathy! She had my heart from the first time I met her in Miami when she came down to visit for spring break with Chris circa 1997. After that, I remember many fun times together. Walking their wedding, becoming Joey’s godmother, trips to Disney, Miami trips, Virgina trips, beach vacation. But the most beautiful memory I have with her is the day she became Gracie’s godmother aka Madrina.
She has always and forever will be so special to me and my family. I will make sure that Gracie knows what a beautiful person she has as a godmother. Until we meet again! I love you forever and ever Kathy!

Kathy is going to be truly missed in the community. She was the biggest cheerleader and welcomed everyone with her beautiful smile and warm hugs. I can’t believe she won’t be on Nikki’s right side at Zumba anymore. She will forever remain in our hearts. My condolences to her family and friends. May we always honor her by sharing her beautiful spirit that was her gift.

Greg and I met Kathy through their beautiful daughter Jackie. We first met when our kids were sophomores in high school. Kathy and I often texted about our children. I remember how Kathy absolutely lit up whenever she spoke of Jackie, Evie, and Joey. Kathy loved serving her community and making wreaths for Arlington cemetery at Christmas. She is one of the most beautiful women I have ever met. We last communicated on Thanksgiving and Kathy was full of hope, love, gratitude and faith. I still gaze at my phone wishing she would respond and it breaks my heart knowing I have to wait until heaven. I truly came to love Kathy and my family will always be here for the Garcia Family. Kathy thank you for being my friend.
love Cathy, Greg and Jake Trout

We have such wonderful memories of our visits to your beautiful home. One of our fondest is the whole family enjoying a Washington Nationals game together.
We are going to miss seeing posts from Kathy on Facebook and keeping up with all the fun things y’all were doing.
It’s so hard to think that she’s gone. Kathy was a beautiful young lady caring for a terrific family. We are so proud of all of you and so wish we could be there to give you a hug and say how much you’re loved. One thing I’m sure of is that Kathy is that watching over you all as she sits beside our Lord from above. God bless you all and keep you in His loving care in the days ahead. Sending all our love and prayers. Aunt Gail & Uncle Paul

Kathy - this is a farewell that no brother ever wants to write to his little sister but I hope to focus my heartache into a tribute worthy of your life.
With your vitality and gentle nature you embody everything that is best in our family. I can't even begin to guess at the number of lives you enriched just by being the person you are.The outpouring of adulation from your friends and family here shows how you touched so many lives. It's all those connections that bring meaning to our lives and you truly lived a life worth living. While I'm heartbroken that you'll miss out on so many cherished events that define a well-lived life I'm comforted in knowing that your kind spirit will live on through your three wonderful children Jackie, Evie, and Joey and that your memory will be cherished by your loving husband Chris. 47 years may have seemed like an eternity when we were growing up but now just feels like a cruel and fleeting blip in an ocean of time. You lived your life to its fullest Kathy - always the optimist, never petty, and filled with endless love for your family and friends. You will be sorely missed.
To Chris - your steadfast determination to stay by Kathy's side through her final weeks is an inspiring testament to the love you two shared. I truly admire the courage with which you faced the facts of Kathy's diagnosis. I only hope I could muster similar resolve if I had to make such difficult decisions. In the trying times ahead just know that we are still family and that you and your children are loved.
All my love, Jason

There is not a memory I have living on this street that doesn’t include Kathy. She was our light. Our most positive, kindest friend. There is a saying that talks about surrounding yourself with positivity and people who are going to challenge to make you better. Kathy made me better showing me how to live life to the fullest and to not sweat the small stuff. I will miss our concert time, our TV chats, your home made Halloween costumes, seeing you when you are on walks and most of all your warmth and smile. Garcia Family- we love you and are with you.

Kathy and Chris were both in my class of 1994. You never saw Kathy without a smile on her face. I have been fortunate to see Chris twice this year but unfortunately under similar circumstances at funerals.
My prayers are with all of you

Undoubtedly, Kathy Garcia was one of the most generous and positive individuals to grace this planet. Our memories of Kathy will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Whether it was a trek to Nat's Park, the fun-filled brewery Trivia Nights, or the countless hours spent at the pool, Kathy brought a unique and unparalleled warmth to every occasion. Her infectious laughter and boundless positivity were gifts that enriched all of our lives immeasurably.
Kathy's spirit was that of a true warrior, facing each with unwavering strength, poise, and determination. She inspired us all with her resilience and the unbreakable spirit that defined her. She taught us the power of kindness, the value of optimism, and the beauty of a giving heart, and will forever remain in our thoughts and memories.
The loss of Kathy leaves a void that can never be filled, and our hearts ache for the entire Garcia family, who has lost such a warrior far too soon! May her legacy be one that continues to inspire us to live with the same generosity, positivity, and resilience that she embodied.
With sympathy, love, and much Shaka…

The magic that Kathy spread, with everyone she met, makes saying goodbye to her that much more difficult. She embodied both beauty and grace and has been an amazing and inspiring presence in our lives. Impromptu porch nights, laughing with her, BCC get togethers, her authenticity, interest in our kids 10,000 stories, great sense of humor and comedic timing, and ability to make us smile on our worst days, are just a few of the memories that we will cherish forever. We are all better for knowing her. She has inspired us to live fully and be better. We are so very lucky to have had her friendship. We love you Garcia's and know that her inner beauty lives on in Joey, Jackie, and Evie. With love and prayer, The Hample Family

There are so many memories of my beautiful friend - the concerts, the hikes, the parties, the dinners, the trivia nights, the porch sits….raising our children together as a part of this community. Every remembrance of her is filled with light - with her smile - with her energy. She is a gift - for always. I love you Kathy.
