James Cook Parker
James C. Parker, loving husband, father and grandfather and resident of Herndon, Va., passed away on Aug. 19, 2011 at Cameron Glen rehab center in Reston, Va. He was 69.
Born Aug. 11, 1942 to Charles B. and Annie L. Parker in Washington, DC, he married Jacqueline M. Norman on July 31, 1965. A computer engineer who worked for AT&T, Siemens and other telecommunications companies, Jim was a devoted husband and dedicated family man. A person with many nicknames, he was known as Uncle Jamo to many, as well as Jim, G-Pops, Pa-Pots, Be-Bop, "brovus" and Jamie.
Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline N. Parker; daughter Kim Parker Hager and husband Marty M. Hager of Reston; daughter Candice Parker Rinker and husband Timothy L. Rinker of Culpeper, Va.; son Andrew D. and wife Jennifer E. Parker of Reston; grandchildren Levi Rinker, Cassandra Parker, Simon Rinker, and Leah and Samuel Hager; and step-granddaughters Rachel W. Steinfeld and husband Leon G. Steinfeld of Leesburg, Va., and Hannah R. Hager of Arlington, Va. Other survivors include brother Charles B. Parker, Jr. of Raleigh, N.C., sister Patricia P. Miller of Durham, N.C., sister Velma L. Trimmer of Annapolis, Md.; and brother Stephen T. Parker of Raleigh, N.C. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother George A. Parker and sister Laurie A.P. Williams Reber.
Family will recieve friends Mon Aug 22, 2011 from 6-8pm on Monday Aug. 22, 2011 at Herndon United Methodist Church, 701 Bennett St Herndon, VA 20170.
Funeral services wlll be held on Tuesday, Aug. 23 at Herndon United Methodist Church in Herndon, Va at 10:30 am., with burial at Fairfax Memorial Park in Fairfax, Va at 2 pm.
