I was so very sorry to learn the sad news. Lee was a wonderful lady who will be missed by many. The photo of her on this page is just how I will remember her -- with that beautiful smile. And your mother would be so pleased that you included Mitzi in the notice of her passing!

Our dear Lee will be sorely missed. For over 20 years we enjoyed her mentoring and guidance of our endeavors at Shenandoah Crossing based on her knowledge of the history and workings of the Resort, and her many skills and talents. She loved the Resort and made us feel the love for the Resort. We enjoyed visiting her and Mitzi at the RV and we know that she trained Mitzi to wrap her rope, leash around our legs to keep us from leaving. We treasured her friendship, and observed her genuine spirit of generosity for all around her. How often did she bake a cake, or create a flower arrangement for a friend? We will be reminded of her thoughtfulness often. We will be attending the Celebration of her Life and Dedication of the Shenandoah Crossing Greenhouse and Gardens in her honor. Our deepest condolences to her family.

I got to know Lee as a member of the Herndon Garden Club years ago. I was new and wanted to do something and learn something. Two words, new and do. Lee did it all, taught it all. She helped me gain confidence in myself through flower arranging. For those that don\'t remember, the Garden Club decorated the outside of the Town Hall of Herndon for years. I became a member of the town Zoning Appeals Board and her confidence in me helped me accept that appointment. She will always be a shining star in my life.
