You the family, significant other and friends of Jarvis have my sincere sympathy during this time of our loss. I met Jarvis in 1975 during our freshman year @ SC State University. We have maintained contact off and on for those 35 years. Jarvis is the only classmate that I invited home(Newberry,SC) to spend a weekend during college. My family took to him immediately. When I received a promotion (in the Marine Corps) in 2005, Jarvis was right there with the remainder of my immediate family. Jarvis is a caring,fun-loving person that will be missed greatly. I had spoken with Jarvis over the last few months on multiple occasions. Whether we spoke once every three months or once every six months, it seemed as if we talked every other day. He was always pleasant, a good friend and an extremely decent human being. He will be sorely missed by all who was blessed enough to have crossed paths with him. Sincerly, Charles Singley, Jr.

I was deeply saddened to hear of your loss. Friendships formed in college are very special. Though we are seperated by miles and years, reflection on these days are memorable. May your memories give you strength through the days ahead.

Jarvis was a special person to many people, he will always have special place in my heart. When my family moved to our first home in the old Herndon neighborhood, Jarvis was amongst the first to seek us out and make us feel not only welcome, but like family. I will forever miss his quick smile and undeniable enthusiasm for everything life had to offer. I'm sure Jarvis has a slew of friends just like me who may not have seen him that often, and may not have been aware of the seriousness of his situation- many of us would have relished a chance to have a last laugh with him, but we must all take solice in the fact that we'll see him again when we are all through with our own earthly toils. Please let the Berry family and all of his friends and loved ones know how much he is loved, missed, and cherished from my family. Sincerely, Clif Overby clifjam1@verizon.net

In a world where everyone is in a hurry, Jarvis was always a patient and positive man. I will always remember his smiling eyes and big grin, and his encouraging and positive messages in his reports, phonecalls and emails about difficult installs for Christie VE. He made things happen. We counted on him. I wish I could have known him better, but in our few years of contact in VE he was the epitome of a gentleman and thoughtful craftsman. A good man we will all miss deeply, and can learn a lot from...

Jarvis, Will be missed...his smile always showed his joy for life. He taught me a few things in life... Material things are not important as you can't take them with you when you go to be with God. If you are going to wake up the next day, you may as well have a good day and look like it by smiling. Treat people with respect and as if you will not see them again. And always remember it is God that is in charge. My thought is ask yourself not just would Jesus do, but what would Jarvis do and your life should be good as his was. God Bless to all...Christine
