John (Jack) D. L. Pyle, 80, longtime Sterling Park resident, former resident of West Milton, OH, died Jan 15th, 2010 at INOVA Loudoun Hospital. He was born Mar. 28th, 1929, in Dayton, OH, to the late John and Ruby Pyle. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Vinita Pyle, two daughters, Teresa Pyle and Janice McGuinness. Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca Boone and Jacquelyn Smith; a son, Kelly Pyle; a brother, Robert Pyle; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and one great- great grandchild. Jack served in the U.S. Navy; retired after 30 years of service from the Dept. of Justice and Immigration & Naturalization Service in Washington, DC. Jack was very active in the West Milton and Sterling Park communities. He was a former president of both West Milton and Sterling Park Jaycees. As West Milton's Jaycees president he initiated fund raising efforts in 1964 to send U.S. Olympian Bob Shul's wife to the games in Tokyo where Bob Shul won the 5000 meter gold medal. In 1975 Jack was honored as Sterling Park's Jaycees Citizen of the Year. He was instrumental in establishing the LLBFL serving as a president. He was a pioneer of youth sports in Sterling park where he coached football, baseball, and basketball. In 1976 following his retirement, Jack gave his all to Park View High School, where he served as the first president of the PVHS Booster Club of which he was tremendously proud. Jack loved life, his family, and friends. His laughter, smile, and gift of gab will be missed by all. We miss you Jack Baby. Memorials may be sent to Ashburn Volunteer Fire & Rescue Dept., 20688 Ashburn Rd, Ashburn, VA 20147. Visitation will be held at Adams-Green Funeral Home, Herndon, VA. on Wednesday Jan. 20th, 2010, from 5 pm to 8 pm. Funeral Service will be held at Adams-Green Funeral Home, Herndon, VA on Friday Jan. 22nd, 2010, at 11 am.
