Obituary of John Francis Rice

John (Jack) Francis Rice (1961 - 2011) John F Rice, known as Jack, died on Monday March 21, 2011. Jack was born on November 8 th , 1961 in Royal Oak, Michigan to James and Emily Rice. Jack's formative years were spent in Montclair, New Jersey. He attended Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York and graduated from Evergreen College in Olympia, Washington. He spent many years in Vashon Island, Washington. Jack was a musician who played guitar and sang on his own and in bands. He wrote songs, producing several of his own albums. He also helped other musicians put together demo tapes in his recording studio in Vashon Island. Jack was an avid reader and traveler. Jack moved back east in 2001 and lived in Silver Spring, Maryland at the time of this death. He is survived by brothers David of Mill Valley, California, Charlie of Herndon, Virginia and Joe of North Yarmouth, Maine, and sister Amy of Cheverly, Maryland. He was married to Lisa Robesch from 2002 until 2006. Services will be held at 2:00 PM on May7 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 651 Dranesville Road, Herndon, VA 20170.
