Obituary of Rena Rickmers

On Friday, December 24, at 12:05 a.m., Rena Lee Cutlip Fasick Rickmers passed peacefully from this world, in the presence of her husband, Albert Rickmers, and her children. Born July 4, 1922, in Summersville, West Virginia, Rena first married Robert Glenn Fasick on November 27, 1946. They celebrated the births of five children and enjoyed a wonderful marriage of 34 years until Robert's passing on March 7, 1980. Good fortune followed, as Rena married Albert Rickmers on August 1, 1982. She remained his beloved wife for the rest of her life. Mother of Jeanne Cotton, Robert Fasick, Jr., Janet Scaggs, Richard Fasick and Cynthia Ann Kunkel Yentes, Mother-in-law of Richard Cotton, Antonia Fasick, Rick Scaggs and Brian Yentes, Stepmother of Kate Christopher, Albert Rickmers, Jr., Aldonna Ambler and Martha Rodwell, Grandmother of Richard Cotton, Jr., Jennifer Ballard, Elise Fasick, Kevin Fasick, Brian Kunkel, Andrew Yentes and John Yentes, Rena is survived by her sister Effie Hanseman of Summersville, West Virginia. Family will receive friends Wednesday, December 29, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at Crossroads United Methodist Church, 43454 Crossroads Drive, Ashburn, VA 20147. A reception will follow at the church. Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2011at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5740 South Pine Avenue, Ocala, Fl 34480 (352.732.3020).
