Obituary of Ruth Sonya Ritchie

In honor of, and in celebration of, the life of Ruth Ritchie of Great Falls, VA. On September 15, 2011, Ruth is survived by children, Judy of Seattle, WA, Alan of Martinsburg, WV, and Paul of Great Falls, VA; grandchildren, DJ, Dawn, Heather, Devin, Jonathon, Emma, Samantha, and numerous great grandchildren. Born April 23, 1930 to William and Gertrude Nebbe, Ruth joined Pan American Airlines as an air hostess in 1951. She married Pan American Pilot, James Ritchie, veteran of WWII in 1955 and lived in numerous locations, including Danbury, CT, West Germany, Fort Lauderdale and Stuart FL, and Great Falls, VA. She was active in many organizations, including World Wings International, National Republican Women's Club, Great Falls Newcomers, River Bend Country and Golf Club, and Christ the King Lutheran Church. Ruth will always be remembered for her dedication to her family, friends, community, and church through her daily consistent acts of kindness. Memorial services will be held at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Great Falls, VA on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 11 AM. Family and friends will be received after the services at the church.
