Tony was one of the most giving people I have ever known. Not only a wonderful brother-in-law, but a friend I will dearly miss seeing and talking to. He gave so much to so many and will always be with us. God has certainly received an angel among angels. Love, Judy and James

Dear Margaret and Family, We will always cherish the memory of such a long lasting friendship with you two dating back to the early '60s. Our time together at the Cherry Blossoms on the Potomac, our visits to your home and the continuous communication via letter/email. We well remember the last time we saw you as we enjoyed lunch together at Cracker Barrel in Smithfield, NC. Sorry we can't join you for the service on Nov 19, but please know we will be there in spirit and our thoughts and prayers will certainly be with you now and the days ahead. May God bless and watch over you all as you go through this difficult time. Rest in peace knowing that Tony is no longer suffering and in a better place than we are. Our love and sympathy, Jim & Corinna

Margaret, Donna, David, Kelly, Ellen and Walker, The news came as a shock, and I have been trying to think of words to express our sadness over Tony's death, but have failed miserably at that. The one truth I do know is that nothing lasts longer than a happy memory, and we all have many of those centered around Tony. May those, along with your faith in God, carry you through these tough days ahead.

It is difficult to express the loss I feel. Mr. Ross meant so very much to me, though I never had the courage or the strength to tell him. This was my failing. I would have liked to have been even closer to him. Now, in retrospect, I see that it would have been so easy. He was like that. He was one of the kindest and most understanding men Ive ever met. He had a strong will, and an even stronger temperance, always seeming to know when to speak and when to let silence speak for itself. When asked, he could offer much-needed advice, but never did I detect even a hint of judgment. He was a stand-up guy. I knew implicitly, as I still do with Mrs. Ross, that if I was ever in need, no matter how badly, no matter what the circumstances, Mr. Ross would be there to help in whatever way he could, without pause, without judgment. Hopefully, I left him with the impression that I would do the same for him. If I have regrets, they are that I didnt spend more time with him, especially of late, and that I never got to tell him how much I loved and respected him, not just for how he treated me, not just for the many years of kindness and respect he showed me, but for how he was always therea quiet, strong presencewhenever his family needed him. But I am very thankful for the time we did spend together. I count myself very fortunate indeed to have met this man, to have learned from him, to have been considered part of his family, and to have known him for so many years. He touched my life in many important ways, and I am the better for it. To try to express how much he will be missed by all who knew him is to reveal the true limitation of language. He loved his family dearly, and theyweloved him every bit as much. Memories are what we have left to fill the space where once there was so much warmth and strength and humor and kindness. But we will be strong in the face of this loss, because thats what he would have wanted. Be at peace, Mr. Ross.
