Frieda, My heart goes out to you. You have been such a wonderful support to your Mom - particularly these last few years when she was more and more dependent on you. May the memories of all you have shared together give you strength and comfort over the difficult days ahead. While I didn't spend much time with your mother, I do remember birds being involved, her attention to detail, and her willingness to speak her mind. There is no doubt that she and your Dad will both live on in you and your family - your generous spirit, joy for life, work ethics, and strength of character. Frieda, Irving, and Becky, I so enjoyed living next door to your mom since 1973 as she became my neighbor and friend. Thelma was a wonderful person, was devoted to her family, and had so many wonderful stories to share. I so enjoyed talking to her over the years. I am so happy she had her wonderful mind right up to the end. She was very sharp and could remember things I had trouble remembering. I will miss her, but I know all of you have wonderful memories of her to sustain you during this difficult time. I'm thinking of all of you.

Frieda: So sorry to hear about your loss, but I'm sure you're happy to know that Thelma's going to the Lord. Caryl and I just got back from a trip to Duke Medical Center to see about an ankle replacement, so were unable to attend the memorial service.
