Captain Kenneth M. Tebo, U.S. Navy (Ret) was born in Marlborough, Massachusetts on April 25, 1919. He attended the Admiral Farragut Academy and the Naval Academy in 1937, Class of 1941. Tebo was assigned to duty on the USS Roper (DD 147) from the USNA. The Roper was a four-stack destroyer of World War I vintage. In 1945, Tebo was ordered to Post -Graduate School in Aeronautical Engineering at Annapolis, MD, finishing his schooling at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, being awarded a Master of Science degree in A.E. He was a test pilot and engineer in Aviation Fire-control systems. The Polaris (Submarine/Missile) Project Office in Washington, DC was his last duty in the Navy. After retiring from the Navy in 1961, Capt. Tebo worked for the A.C. Sparkplug Division of General Motors, Midwest Research Institute as Director of Program management Techniques, the Central Intelligence Agency as a Program manager and The George Washington University as Director, Off Campus Program of the continuing Engineering Education Program. Captain Tebo's decorations and awards included the Silver Star Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal, two CIA Intelligence Medals of Merit and various military theatre and victory medals. Captain Tebo married the former Marceda Anderson of Seattle, WA on 1 June 1943. They have three children, Robyn N. Tebo of Sterling, VA; Craig J. Tebo of Menlo Park, CA and Dr. Bradley M. Tebo of Portland, OR; three grandchildren, Christina and her husband John, Alison and Martin Tebo of Portland, OR and two great-grandchildren, Justin and Jared.
