Roger P. Thrailkille, LCPL USMC, of Sterling, died on March 15, 2009, at the age of 59. Born in Washington DC, Roger enlisted in the Marine Corps at the age of 16 and was deployed to Vietnam. He was wounded twice while there, and was awarded several medals for his service, including the Purple Heart. He was discharged from the Marine Corps in 1972.
