Dear Ones, I remember Holly as a beautiful, energetic young woman at Langley High School. It was only recently I had the pleasure of seeing her in 2007 and 2009 at two different high school reunions that I got to know Holly. In 2008, I remember being so amazed seeing the clip on television and I read the article in the Washington Post about Holly's efforts to rescue horses. Talking with her at her class's reunion in 2009, she was trying to help a mutual friend locate a place for (that person's)older horse. Late January, 2011, I saw Holly briefly at a gathering for LHS people at the Old Brogue. Holly looked so happy to be among her friends. The Memorial Service was so very meaningful. Hearing such sweet remembrances about Holly made me feel so grateful having known her. She was a great person and she will truly be missed be everyone she knew. I feel so sorry for your family. A loss like this is crushing. No other word can describe it. I will continue lifting you all up in prayer, knowing that Holly is watching over you and she is now free from pain. Your family is such a wonderful, living tribute to Holly; a life well-lived. Sincerely, Virginia McGavin Rita

I was saddened to learn of Holly's death in the Washington Post of June 2. I used to see her on the Reston paths while dog walking. We always smiled and greeted each other. I know she loved animals. As I recall, she marketed magnets to ward off systemic ills. She was cheerful, vibrant, and tuned to the world-- she will be missed. My condolences to her family.

My thoughts and prayers go with Holly and her family at this time. In the little time that I got to know Holly again, she seemed to live a life filled with energy, purpose and love that should be celebrated in rememberance. Holly shared a love of horses with my family and I admired her committment to her rescue work with them. She was a special person and will be greatly missed by all.

I knew Holly when we were young teenagers riding the trails in and around Georgetown Pike. Never was there a better friend in the world! My condolences to her family.
