Obituary of Rudolph Carl Trautner

Rudolph "Rudy" C. Trautner, age 75, of Ashburn, VA died on August 28, 2009 at Reston Hospital Center. He was born on March 3, 1934 in Elizabeth, NJ to the late Rudolf A. and Frieda Trautner. Rudy was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from the FAA as an air traffic controller after 29 years of service. Rudy volunteered at Reston Hospital for the past 11 years, winning the 2007 Volunteer of Year. He was also a long time member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church since 1965. Rudy was the beloved husband of 50 years of Dolores E. Trautner, loving and devoted father of Jeffrey W. Trautner and his wife Lanett, Glen R. Trautner and his wife Patti, and Wayne B. Trautner and his wife Lori, all of Sterling, VA, proud grandfather of Allison, Erin, Sean, Patricia, Kristin and Karl, great-grandfather of Derek. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 4 th from 6-8pm at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 1090 Sterling Road, Herndon, VA, where funeral services will help on Saturday, September 5 th at 11am. Interment will be private. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Northern Virginia Area, 124 Park Street, S.E., Vienna, VA 22180.
