Obituary of Ray Updike

Updike, Raeburn W. "Ray" Of Herndon, Va. On Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Reston Hospital. Ray passed away after a long battle with cancer. He was born on March 16, 1942 in Washington D.C. to Ruth McGuire Updike and the late Winston Carvelle Updike. Ray was a member and past Worshipful Master of the Herndon Masonic Lodge No. 264. He was a long time member of Herndon United Methodist Church. Ray was the beloved husband of 49 years of Alma Updike. Devote father of Raeburn, Russell and Richard Updike and Renea Barta. Supportive brother of Wayne Updike and Kay Schlegel. Proud grandfather of Ryan Barta, Eli Updike and Trent Updike. Loving cousin, uncle and friend to many. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8pm on Tuesday, June 2 nd at ADAMS-GREEN Funeral Home 721 Elden St. Herndon, VA. Service will be held on Wednesday at 11am at Herndon United Methodist Church 701 Bennett St. Herndon, VA. Interment Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
