Obituary of Andrew Vytautas Valiunas

Valiunas, Andrew V. Ph.D , Col. USA Ret. Age 84 Of Reston, Va on Monday, January 30, 2012 at Reston Hospital. Beloved husband of the late Colette Valiunas. Devoted Uncle of Dominic, Andrew, S. Peter, Julius, Algis, Peter, and Danute Valiunas. He is also survived by 1 Great Niece and 1 Great Nephew. Andrew was the recipient of the Order of St. John. He escaped from a Nazi prison camp in 1944. He was a Lithuanian Freedom Fighter and celebrated her independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. He was an army intelligence officer and International Economist for the Federal Government until retirement in 1987. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 9:00 AM. Friends are asked to meet at the administration building at 8:45 AM.
