Such a big crowd gathered in Herndon to celebrate the Fiftieth Anniversary of Peggy and Don! With his great wit, Don kept us all entertained in my travel agency and later when he joined the Herndon Rotary Club. When his family moved him up north to be near them, we would be remembered and thanked each time we called him. Peggy and Don Vetter - these icons of Herndon will always be remembered with love.

Dear family of Don and Peggy: My sincere sympathy in the loss of a lovely man. He was a good friend and mentor to me all those years I worked for him and Peggy at the Herndon Observer. Those were great years. He will be much missed. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

It was a joy to know this warm and gentle man. He and Peggy made a wonderful home in Herndon and the town was better because of them. I will treasure the memories of both of them and will remember them with love.

I remember both Peggy and Don from the years they ran the Observer together. They were both very pleasant to work with and very dedicated to the betterment of the town of Herndon. When Peggy was first diagnosed with her illness, I went to the home to bring her some type of fruit food. But it was something she plainly didn't like. So she quickly explained that she didn't eat it and said: "Just give it to Don, he'll eat it." I'll always remember them both fondly, will pray for both that they may be received into the Heavenly Kingdom. To the family go our sincerest love and sympathy in the hopes that adjusting to life without these good parents/grandparents will be easy yet prayerful. Much love and prayers, Tony and Mary DeBenedittis and Anthony Jude
