This message is written in tribute to Norma Bowers, your wife Buddy; and for your mother, Kathy and Brad. I know you’ve never met me, but I doubt anyone was closer to your mother after the three of you than I was. We thought of one another as sisters, and we both thanked God for the miracle of email that once again put us in touch at least three times a week. We voiced our political views, shared the memories of you children and mine growing up, and sent little fanciful emails to complain about the aches and pains of old age as well as heartfelt ones to tell each other how important we were to one another. I know how she felt about flowers after she left this earth, and I also know how she felt about her physical body at this time. She may have left her physical shell behind, but I’m sure she is enjoying a freedom she hasn’t felt in years. I have no doubt she was met by her mother, Aunt Montana, whom I called Aunt Monna; and I have no doubt she was holding her baby sister, Polly, in her arms. I know that was a joyous reunion, and I can’t help but smile thinking of it. I didn’t know her dad ,Charley Stansbury. He died before I was born. I’m sure he welcomed her home with open arms along with mother, Margaret Hoshall “Betty” Crockett, your grandmomma Stansbury’s baby sister. She and Norma were close in age and family commitment. Also my dad, John Crockett, would be there to give her one of his big bear hugs and tell you how great it was to see her! “Nornie”and I have discussed dying many times. Now that one of us has crossed that plateau, she will still be with me daily as before. I know there is no email in heaven, and there is no long distance phone calls, but I know she will hear me just the same as I complain about my ailments and our politicians, and talking to her about the joys and trials of my family. Please don’t hold it against me now if I cry. The tears are for me, you know. I will sorely miss her! She knows how much I love her. God Bless You All and grant you peace. With Love, Sharon Lee Crockett Guidry Lake Charles, Louisiana

I was very sorry to hear of your loss. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help out. Even if it's some Unix code.... Sincerely, Andy

Our Family is small and spans a far distant but Nornie well truly be missed in our lives. From her bright smile to her loving and caring ways, she was an exceptional LADY. She had this excitement that you would feel every time she came to visit Louisiana. Her proudest visit was when she brought Brad and they ate Cajun Food and visited Texas. She had a great friendship with CJ and could talk forever on the phone with him, because he could make her laugh about life. She will truly be missed by all.
