Over the years he worked for the U.S. Air Force as a civilian; the Central Intelligence Agency; and retired from the U.S. Navy as a civilian. He was a professional photographer during his spare time. After his retirement he enjoyed being a part-time VIP driver for Reston Limousine. He was an Eagle Scout; past-president of Northern Virginia Volksmarchers; a member of the American Legion; and an avid fan of the Redskins and DC United.
