Obituary of John Wolfe

CAPT John "Doc" Wolfe, USNR (Retired) died Monday, April 11, 2011 after a brief battle with heart disease. He was surrounded by family when he passed away at Shands Medical Facility in Gainesville, FL. He was born July 9, 1937, in Syracuse, NY. Doc graduated from LeMoyne College and joined the Navy in 1961. He served in Special Forces in Vietnam and later in Desert Storm. He is survived by his wife Mary of 47 years, his sons, daughter, their spouses, 6 grandchildren, a large extended family and countless friends. A viewing will be held at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA 20170 on Thursday, April 14, 2011, from 5:00-8:00 PM. A Service of Remembrance will be held Friday, April 15, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at McLean Bible Church, 8925 Leesburg Pike, Vienna, VA 22182. Burial with full Military Honors will be at Arlington National Cemetery on a date to be determined. Gifts in Doc's memory are requested to go to Shands Medical Center CICU (Cardiac Intensive Care Unit).
