Jean M. Yednock, 88, beloved wife of Col. Stephen C. Yednock passed away peacefully at home Saturday, November 14, 2009. Born February 20, 1921 in Harrisburg, Pa. she was the daughter of Jacob Franklin Martin and Mary Grace E'Wing Martin, both deceased. She was a longtime member of Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Herndon, VA. She worked as an administrative assistant during WWII where she met her husband, Stephen. Ever since WWII, she was a homemaker and raised six children. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bruce Martin and W. Franklin Martin, two Sisters June Zearing and Joan Hildebrand and one daughter Jean M. Martin. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years Col. Stephen C. Yednock (USAFR Ret.), two sons, Stephen C. Yednock Jr. and wife Peggy of Seabrook, Md and Frederick Yednock and wife Oneida of Ashburn, Va., three daughters, Mary Foster and husband Bob of Mechanicsburg, Pa, Linda Elstad and husband Victor of Herndon, Va, and Catherine Wood and husband Tom of Charles Town, WV. Nine Grandchildren, Denise, Dennis, Michael, Stephen, MegAnn, Victor B., Joshua, Becky and Stephanie. Three Great Grandchildren. One Brother Robert Martin and one Sister Jane Smoley. Family will receive friends at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden St., Herndon, VA on Thursday, November 19, 2009 from 7 to 9 pm. Rosary will be said at 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 20, 2009 at 11:30 am at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church, 750 Peachtree St., Herndon, Va. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery on Monday, December 7, 2009 at 10:00 am. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church or the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, Va 22312. Condolences may be left for the family at www.adamsgreen.com.
